Children's Book: Father Daughter Collaboration

Hello readers!! Hope you all had a great start to the year! January is almost over -- can you believe it?!

Well, it is, and February is upon us already, and I have an announcement from Gate Key Publishing that I think you will be able to get excited about!

If there is one thing I will always encourage, it is the creation of creative works by young ones in this world! Not only do our children bring a fresh perspective to important issues in our world, but they bring a unique one in most cases; a perspective from within the box. And Gate Key Publishing is proud to announce our first book by a young author, my daughter, Gwen Blodgett! Her book is called Tiffany's Tiff: The Bully and the Bullied.

This book is a collaboration between myself and my amazing daughter, Gwen! Truth be told, my daughter and I actually wrote the original draft of this book together back when she was in the second grade. Just like many of my own projects, they seem to take a bit to come into the public eye, but I believe that is just the timing God intended, so it's all good! Here, check out the back cover too!

Looks pretty good huh?! We think so, and hope you do too!

As you can see by the title, Tiffany's Tiff will tackle a very tough subject and one that, unfortunately, all of our children will come face to face with as they grow up. Bullying is a real problem, and I applaud my daughter for having such a heart for others, even at the young age, she was when this story idea was hatched!

Here's a pic of my baby girl and me -- not such a baby anymore, I know, but she always will be to me :)

A little history of the story itself, just because it is too funny!

My daughter actually hatched this story idea from one simple image and the very short story she wrote while in second grade. The original story idea itself was about a young girl who was wandering through the jungle one day and came across a tiger 🐯 who was -- apologies for being crude -- going number two in the jungle, but like a human, with toilet, newspaper and all! We thought the story was too funny, and it earned her a classroom award from her awesome teacher at the next School awards ceremony! Although the story was essentially a comedy about a silly moment, it seemed to have some potential.

So, my daughter and I say down at the computer and started to hash out the details for her silly story, and how we could attach it to a greater story and theme that might be relevant in today's world 🌎. After all, good writing usually reflects the world around us, right? And so, bullying seemed a relevant topic for children of all ages.

I'm not gonna lie, this has probably been one of the most enjoyable projects I have ever had the pleasure of collaborating on, and Gwen and I cannot wait to bring it to you!

On that note, let's talk dates!

Gwen Blodgett and Gate Key Publishing will be releasing Tiffany's Tiff in February of 2021! I know, you thought you were going to have to wait long! Nope, it's coming at you very soon! And you can get it sooner than everyone else, if you like, and for FREE!!

All you have to do is sign up for my mailing list/subscribe to my site, and you will get your own PDF copy of Tiffany's Tiff: The Bully and the Bullied! Like any book, we need readers and would love to hear what you have to think about this, and future books, coming out from Gate Key Publishing! This is obviously not necessary, and you can of course get a copy of the book when we release it in February, but we sure would love to have you on the team, for this and future projects!

Either way, Gwen and I would like to thank you so much for checking out this blog post in its entirety! We hope you enjoyed it, and hope you will enjoy Tiffany's Tiff with your little ones, which will be available soon enough as an eBook and in paperback on Amazon!

Until next time... Happy reading!!
